A Great Closet Organizer Idea for the Work at Home Mom |
|
|
If you are a work at home mom, then you can probably understand the headaches and stress of trying to organize your home office while tending to kids, cooking, cleaning, and meeting your deadlines. You may also understand the benefits of having your husband present so that you can get some well needed peace and quiet to get your tasks done. Many work at home moms pass by the closet in their home office many, many times each day. Most of the time, these closets are stacked full of projects that are being delayed. This may include sorting out the clothes that do not fit the kids any longer, organizing those family photo albums, or finding that book your son wants you to read that you just know is in there somewhere. Even with this clutter behind a closed door, it can affect your overall productivity in your home business and even in your chores and basic responsibilities. The closet is a wonderful space that can be utilized in many productive ways. The closet organizer idea that we will review is how you can make this space in your home office work for you. Naturally, you will be required to completely clean out the closet, but it will be well worth the work when you see the change it will bring about in the home! As parents, we all know that our children are constantly competing with our work and our other responsibilities for just a little bit of our attention. This is especially true when we are tucked away in the home office and are trying to get our work done. Children are curious and often what to be involved with what we are doing. Even though we may think that our work is boring and repetitive, they believe it is exciting. They see that we want to be doing what we are doing, and they want to be a part of it. Well, now they can be! You can take the closet in your home office and convert it into a mini “kid” office for your child! Now, a lot of parents may not like the idea of stuffing their child in a closet while they work, but this is really not the intention of this. You can simply take the door off of the closet in the home office, to ensure the safety of your child, and hang a bead door in front of the opening. You can then place a small desk or table in the closet. This can be their “work” area. You may choose to set up various cubby holes that hold items like crayons, pencils, paints, markers, puzzles, favorite toys, and more. While you are working, your child can be working too. If you decide to implement this great closet organization idea in your home office, be certain that there is plenty of bright light, ventilation, and stuff to do. It is also important that the space in the closet is quite large. You will not want to do this with a small closet. In addition to this, if your child does not like this closet organization idea, do not force it. However, many young children will be quite excited to have their own office!
